Although this is the first week of spring, I did
this painting of a pond in Autumn.I approach landscapes the same way as a floral; it is all about the shapes and values.I always make sure there are at least 3 values in a painting- light, medium and dark.It is important to make sure the values aren't equal in a painting. In some paintings the dark value is dominant ; there is no right choice. It is all in the artist's hand to decide.
