Dreaming

I was a watercolorist for about twenty years. I resisted going back to oils be caused I loved the fluid color changes in water colors. I think my roots are showing because I tried to keep it thin enough to create an illusion of a watercolor in this oil painting.

Azalea Trail

Spring is the best season for flowers in the south. By the time July comes around , most flowers have a difficult time with the heat. Azaleas are the poster child for spring, thriving in the shade.

Bright Spot

One of my favorite paint colors is Caribbean Blue. It is pretty expensive compared to some other colors, but worth it.I thought it was a perfect color to complement these hydrangeas.

Nature Calls

Imagine you are a child sitting in a garden hoping to catch a grasshopper or a butterfly. I remember finding caterpillars and putting them in a shoebox hoping for a butterfly to emerge. The cocoon happened but don't think the whole cycle came to fruition. It was still a wonderful world of nature. I hate that children don't have the freedom to wander outdoors all day like we did.

Knockout Style

Nothing says drama more than some jars of lilacs. They couldn't be more simple but they truly are the center of attention. If only we could smell them too!

Full House

I have always had an attraction to doors. 25 years ago I got a poster of "doors of New York", since then I have taken many photos in every city we have visited. I have some from Boston to Italy. I have started painting some of them. This white door has some mystery about what lies behind the other side.

Team Building

I love painting geraniums, especially in the soft light of a window. These have a bonus of just a little purple something. I am

not sure of the name of the purple flower but that is not important to me-- just that it is beautiful.

Four if by Land

These four 6x6 inch panels make a good grouping of landscape paintings. They can be framed together or separated to give as gifts or displayed on metal easels.
Although I paint more flowers I do enjoy landscapes. I am always clicking my camera out of the car window as we drive down the road; some end up a little blurry!

Table Favorites

Nasturtiums are a favorite flower of mine but I realized I have never painted them. I love the round leaves and the gorgeous oranges and yellows. The leaf and stem system is pretty complicated so maybe that is why I have avoided painting them.My birthday resolution this year is to be a little more daring along with being more mature.I can still be quite immature when talking with my good friends on our Facebook group message. These friends go back almost 50 years and I admit we are still those giggling junior high girls.

FourxFour

This is a grouping of four 6x6 paintings. There were scattered on a table where I photograph my art work and I noticed they looked good grouped together. I am offering them on Daily Paintworks.com as a group for a discounted price. They would work grouped on a wall or as 4 different Christmas gifts!
