Double Dutch

I was not an athlete when I was younger but I played my fair share of jump rope. For some reason the term Double Dutch came to mind for this painting.it could also be attributed to our recent trip toAmsterdam where we saw countless beautiful flowers such as these.

Above the Fold

A prime location for a news story in a newspaper is"above the fold"--the first place the eye goes to. These hydrangeas certainly fit the bill as attention getting.

Cool Blue

A lot of my paintings tend toward warm colors but this was turning cool as I painted it.The pop of orange and yellow save it from being too chilly!

Deep Purple

Back to the blue green with purple. I can't seem to get enough of this color combination. Something about it just draws me in. Of course, like anything there are personal preferences. For example, everyone but me seems to love coffee. It smells great but not so much the taste. Maybe psychologically I am resisting because I don't want to be a grown up.

Crowd Sourcing

Tulips are social beings. They function best in a crowd. Planting instructions always say to plant in groupings and when picked they look best with several in a vase. I could work as a tulip!

Jubilation

12x12 Daily Paintworks
I painted this one earlier and thought I had finished. But the more I looked at it I was not satisfied with it. I usually try to finish a smaller painting in one session but that was not the case. I added some flowers to these pots and finally was able to say it was complete. Taking time to look at things again is always a good idea.

Urban Growth

Most city dwellers don't have a lot of room for a garden. Pots of geraniums satisfy the need to grow something. There is always room for a few plants!
