MR. BENTON

Mr. Willie Benton was a client on our Meals On Wheels route for about 6 years. He lost his wife  a few years before he died in his nineties. and was quite lonely without her. He was fortunate to have a loving family who always came by and took care of him. We should all be so lucky.

Spring Bouquets

I saw these flowers at an outdoor market. They were so pleasing in their colors and shapes that they composed themselves without any help from me.

Autumn Sun

We live on a golf course and it is very beautiful. I don't play, but I enjoy the change of seasons. This is from a photo taken on a beautiful sunny fall day.

FOUR POTS

These are four pots of flowers that I had photographed. I tried to make them abstract shapes rather than individual petals and leaves.Hopefully it works.

DUOMO DOZE

Duomo Doze
I visited the beautiful Duomo when in Florence. It was a hot day  in July and I noticed these senior citizens sitting on a bench, all but one was fast asleep. I took a photo and  painted it in watercolor when I came home.

BURST OF COLOR

This painting was done in Buffalo New York in the dead of winter. Thank goodness for hothouse flowers.
The composition is simple, the blooms didn"t need any background or aything to distract from the beauty.

CALIFORNIA DOOR
It is good to be back in a routine after the holidays. This painting is from a photo I took on Coronado Island in California. What caught my eye was the the way the shadows showed up on the bright white of the wall and sidewalk. There was a kind of mystery about what might be behind that door. (8x10)
