Best Baskets

I love baskets! My father learned how to make split oak baskets from an old man out in the country. He even made a contraption to hand split the pieces of wood that he cut. After soakng, the splits were woven into baskets. He did this until the arthritis in hs hands made it too difficult to do anymore. Those baskets along with my mother's quilts are first on my list to save in case of a house fire!
