Spring Stage
Last week my husband and I both had a terrible stomach bug. He was one day ahead of me in getting better and surprised me with a beautiful bouquet in a square vase. It really lifted my spirits. This is a painting of the gorgeous flowers.

Field Flowers
I am a fan of informal Bouquets. I would rather buy bunches of flowers and put them in a container than have a formal florist bouquet that is stuck in floral foam. There are occasions where that is necessary, but not my style. I liked these flowers because of the subtle color. I keep painting these spring themes hoping to hurry her up-- it is 32 degrees this morning!

Garden on Coronado
Coronado Island is one of my favorite places. I have been there a few times lucky enough to stay at the Hotel Del Coronado complete with ghosts. This kind of scene is found all over the streets on the island. It must be a combination of the ocean air and the California sun that makes the flowers so beautiful.

Ode to Joy
If I had to choose something to paint that would be the only thing I could paint, I would have to choose flowers. I guess I could say they are my passion because when I am painting them I have so much pleasure. All those boxes and boxes of photos that I have accumulated over the years are coming in handy when I don't have the real thing in front of me.

Two of Us
Usually I have an odd number of objects in a painting. This set up was intriguing with just two things in it because of the size difference.I love the turquoise glass contrasted with the pinks. This was a delicious pleasure to paint. I really lose myself when painting; great therapy!
