I recently went to my friend's backyard. She has been cultivating azaleas for many years and the yard is gorgeous in the spring. There are many paths and steps to wander and I was anxious to paint the scene.
I went to a Farmer's Market in a small town in Maine.this woman was selling flowers from her garden. I don't know why I attempted to add the truck in the background-- I have painted very few vehicles. I do think it turned out okay!
This was a potted plant that was mainly geraniums. It had just enough of other plants added to make it more interesting. I would like to try it again with oils.
Coronado Island near San Diego must have the perfect climate for growing flowers.I spent a lot of time roaming the neighborhoods taking photos. This scene was a favorite.
We visited my sister-in-law near San Francisco last summer.She was decorating tables for a luncheon using sunflowers. These were some of the leftovers sitting on her table and I took lots of pictures.Something about sunflowers always draws me in.
